The Most Hilariously Awesome Dance Moves in Sports

0 of 15

    USA TODAY Sports

Dance moves don't have to be good to be hilarious and awesome.

Not only can I personally not dance well, but I also don't have the confidence and humor to just go for it like these folks.

People who are willing to just let loose with reckless abandon, without a care in the world—these people should be celebrated.

Most people on this list had to have known that the world would at least probably see their moves—Peyton Manning rocking out to "Rocky Top," a young baseball fan just going nuts on the Jumbotron—they just didn't care.

The less these people care—and the more they let loose—the better.

Nick Saban

1 of 15

You read that right—Nick Saban. I have yet to see definitive proof that Nick Saban ever smiles, let alone dances.

But it happened. It's grainy and it's hard to see, but it's there.

According to Kami Mattioli of Sporting News, Saban reportedly performed the electric slide in his own home, in front of a group of Alabama recruits.

Brian Hoyer

2 of 15

Following a comeback victory against the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer got in on the post-game celebration the locker room.

Maybe he was celebrating the win or his own stellar performance. Or maybe he was celebrating the fact that Johnny Manziel was nowhere in sight. Either way, his dance movies are hilariously awesome.

Tennessee Fans

3 of 15

As ESPN's Brett Edgerton notes, a version of Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" plays at Tennessee football games, except the word "turn" is replaced with "third." Get it?

Anyway, Kyle Wagner of Deadspin brought our attention to a video of Volunteer fans dancing to the song—they're really getting into it. You know what? I dig the enthusiasm.

Kliff Kingsbury

4 of 15

The Texas Tech football team had a dance-off at practice. As if that's not cool enough, head coach Kliff Kingsbury got in on the action himself (look for him around the 0:40 mark).

His players definitely showed him up, but you have to admire the effort.

Mark Dantonio

5 of 15

Mark Dantonio is another head coach who doesn't exactly smile a lot. In fact, the sight is so rare that it's apparently reserved for Rose Bowl victories only.

Luckily, the Michigan State head football coach got one of those in January 2014. He kicked off the team's post-game locker room celebration (around the 0:15 mark), dancing to "Some Type of Way," the team's unofficial theme song.

The khaki-clad Dantonio's dance moves can only be described as, well, adorable.

Dancing Usher

6 of 15

You might remember this Detroit Pistons usher for being totally awesome. He got into a dance-off with a kid in the stands and the whole thing was glorious.

Well, he's at it again. This guy is funny and, as Ken Chen of B/R points out, he actually can dance. He's such a big deal, he even has his own Twitter handle.

The usher is awesome. The kid is awesome. Everyone is awesome.

Dennis Norfleet

7 of 15

Dennis Norfleet's on-field performance during a game against Penn State was the best thing to happen for Michigan football all year.

And no, it was not a football play.

George Clinton's "Atomic Dog" played over the stadium loudspeakers while Norfleet waited to return a Penn State kick. Evan Jankens of CBS Detroit reported that Norfleet specifically requested the song so he could dance to it while he waited.

    George Clinton liked it.

Dabo Swinney

8 of 15

This gem comes to us courtesy of Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.

In the hopes of encouraging alumni to return to Clemson for homecoming weekend, Swinney danced to Pharrell's "Happy" on film—because that's how alumni would feel if they came back, obviously. Fast forward to the 0:20 mark to get the party started.

There are so many great things about this video: the attire (tucked-in polo with jeans), the lip-syncing, the fact that he doesn't know all the words and doesn't seem to care.

Dabo Swinney, you're the best. If I had gone to Clemson, I would totally come back for homecoming.

Andy Reid

Nick Schwartz of USA Today Sports helped provide us with a glimpse of why dancing Andy Reid is the greatest.

Following a victory against the Miami Dolphins, the Kansas City Chiefs head coach was caught on film sliding across the locker room in jubilation.

Lou Holtz

10 of 15

    That's right, Lou Holtz.

Following Mississippi State's win over Auburn, ESPN did a take on an old SNL skit. In this version, Rece Davis is Christopher Walken and Lou Holtz is Will Ferrell.

Holtz went all out, that's for sure. I think Ferrell would be proud of his enthusiasm.

Tom Wilhelmsen

11 of 15

It's unclear what motivated Seattle Mariners pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen to bust out his dance moves, but I'm so glad he did.

Perhaps he was celebrating the last game of the season, or maybe he just loves "Turn Down for What" (who doesn't?).

Good luck not laughing at this.

Durham Grounds Crew

12 of 15

This grounds crew for the Durham Bulls is the best grounds crew in baseball, at least when it comes to awesome dance routines.

Four grown men performing to a Taylor Swift song at a Triple-A baseball game is not something you're going to see every day. So take it in—it's hilarious.

Marlins Kid

13 of 15

A young fan at a Miami Marlins game was definitely not afraid to get down. He was so excited to be shown on camera at a game that he just let it loose, and the result was awesome.

Turns out being awesome pays off—the young fan, Jonathan, became an Internet sensation and even threw out the first pitch at a later Marlins game.

Peyton Manning

14 of 15

Peyton Manning just can't help being endearing, can he? With his hilarious commercials, unwavering professionalism and immense talent, he's hard not to like.

Then he does this—dances unabashedly to "Rocky Top," the University of Tennessee's unofficial fight song.

Manning must've known that his dance moves weren't exactly in the "good" category, but he went for it anyway. Fully awesome.

Dancing Kevin

15 of 15

Dancing Kevin is a Columbus Blue Jackets fan...a big one. His dancing, beer-pouring, booty-shaking scene at the team's home opener is something you just have to see to believe.
